Q: Where are you originally from?
A: Ansonia, Connecticut

Q: Can you tell us your latest book news?
A: My new novel, BOOK DOCTOR, was recently published by Counterpoint (The Perseus Book Group.) It’s a novel for everyone who loves books.

Q: How old were you when you first started writing?
A: Very young

Q: When did you first realize you had the potential to be a writer?
A: I’ve wanted to be a writer for ever and ever

Q: What was your inspiration to write your first novel?
A: My first novel, called Mango Tango, was inspired by watching strangers dance

Q: Is there anyone or anything that inspired you to write?
A: Reading other people’s books inspired me to write

Q: How has your environment/upbringing colored your writing?
A: I write what I see. Which I guess is my environment.

Q: Do you have a specific writing style?
A: I’d call my style Clear and Poetic (or, clearly poetic.)

Q: What genre are you most comfortable writing?
A: Fiction

A: My husband came up with the title

Q: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
A: The book’s really about loving books. That’s the message. It’s also about creativity.

Q: Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your life?
A: It’s based on everything I know.

Q: What books have most influenced your life?
A; So many authors: Philip Roth, Tolstoy, Grace Paley, Turgenev, Cynthia Ozick, R.K. Narayan, Muriel Spark. Many many writers

Q: If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
A: R.K. Narayan

Q: What are you reading now?
A: Ian McEwan

Q: What new author has grasped your interest?
A: Scores

Q: Is there anything additional you would like to share with your readers?
A: Write if you love books. It’s wonderful!
