Q: Where are you originally from?
A: Southern CA

Q: Can you tell us your latest book news?
A: My latest book, NIGHT’S KISS, is in stores now. It’s a vampire romance published by Zebra. My next book, DAKOTA DREAMS, will be out in October from Signet.

Q: How old were you when you first started writing?
A: I don’t remember

Q: When did you first realize you had the potential to be a writer?
A: I guess when I sold my first book. Until then, I just wrote for the fun of it.

Q: What was your inspiration to write your first novel?
A: Boredom!

Q: Is there anyone or anything that inspired you to write?
A: Not that I recall. I just sat down one night and started writing and I’ve been writing ever since.

Q: How has your environment/upbringing colored your writing?
A: I’m sure it has although I couldn’t give you any examples.

Q: Do you have a specific writing style?
A: Again, I’m sure I do, but I couldn’t tell you what it is.

Q: What genre are you most comfortable writing?
A: Vampires and historicals

A: Sometimes it’s from a sentence used in the book, sometimes it’s something I have to really think about, and sometimes my editors comes up with the title.

Q: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
A: None that I’m aware of.

Q: How much of the novel is realistic?
A: Well, I’m sure very little is realistic in my vampire romances, but they’re certainly fun to write.

Q: Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your life?
A: No, I’ve never met a vampire or lived in the Old West.

Q: What books have most influenced your life?
A: The Bible and the Book of Mormon. I don’t know if the book Phantom by Susan Kay has influenced my life but it’s a book I’ve never forgotten.

Q: If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
A: I can’t think of anyone who ever mentored me. I have several who are good friends and a good influence.

Q: What are you reading now?
A: I Hunger for You by Susan Sizemore

Q: What new author has grasped your interest?
A: Susan Crandall. I don’t know if she’s a new author but she’s new to me and I’ve enjoyed all of her books.
